Let’s be honest: we all lose stuff. To some of us it happens more often, to some it happens less often. But mysterious disappearance of our items is something common to all people in modern civilization. So, I guess some people decided they were fed up with losing stuff and they invented Tile. What we have here is a very small item which is placed or stuck to items we often lose, or we would hate to lose (wallet, keys etc). Then you use the application on your phone or tablet which tracks the Bluetooth signal strength of your Tile. The app shows the distance and changes it as you get closer to your lost item. As you go nearer to the item, Tile’s special melody is heard and it goes on until you find the item. The signal covers a 100-foot radius.
Tile is quite small and light, so it won’t be a burden to have it on your key ring or wallet. The design makes it easy to hook it, tape it or attach it to anything. Even though it’s small, it’s very sturdy since you don’t choose where to lose your items, and it is necessary that Tile can handle different types of terrain and surroundings. In that spirit, it’s also waterproof. The upkeep is easy, as the battery lasts for one year. After that, you can get your Tile recycled and replaced with the latest model. In case you lost something and you’re out of the radius of that object, you can mark it as a lost item. So if anyone who uses Tile passes by your object, you’ll be sent a notification of it’s whereabouts. Tile works on Apple iOS and Android devices with Bluetooth 4.0.
