There are very few beauty products that we call iconic. You know, the ones that have been used by generations of women that, to this day, have stood the test of time and haven’t lost their popularity or credibility. Products like Chanel No.5 perfume, L’Oréal’s Elnett hair spray, Dove soap, Pond’s cold cream cleanser and Smith’s Rosebud Salve from Rosebud Perfume Co. Believe it or not, the latter one has been around since 1892 and has been women’s favorite ever since.
Rosebud Salve is an all purpose moisturizer that has been called “a miracle in a tin” and has been used to soothe a variety of skin conditions – chapped and dry skin, blemishes, minor burns, rough cuticles, rough hands and dry elbows and knees to name a few. It’s wonderfully effective as a lip balm and very hydrating. It’s hard not to fall in love with it because of its consistency and emollient texture.
The salve also has a cosmetic use. You can apply it with a lip brush to your lips to achieve a pouty, plumper look or use it with your favorite lipstick for a dewy effect. Not only that, if you have unruly eyebrows, just apply a little bit of Rosebud Salve and the problem is solved. The same goes for fly-away or frizzy hair. You can also apply it to your cheeks to subtly accentuate them.
Smith’s Rosebud Salve is made from Cotton Seed Oil and Aromol with essential oils blended in the surgical grade pure white petrolatum. It is not greasy or sticky, applies well and is highly absorbent. This salve is also quite affordable and a single container will last you for a very long time.
