For those of you who spend a lot of time road biking or cruising around, you’ll know that it can be tough to ride with gear. A backpack gets uncomfortable (i.e. hot and sweaty on your back) and changes your center of gravity, while a messenger bag can slip and slide around, getting in your way. Jack and Arthur of JAAR have “designed a line of bags for bike commuters, go-getters and anyone who wants to feel a little more like a superhero.”
The first bag in their collection, currently being funded on Kickstarter, is the LA001. It’s a sleek, modern, stylish, and practical frame bag made from 5oz vegetable tanned leather, 18oz heavy-duty waxed canvas, and 1/8″ aircraft-grade wool felt – all the materials are sourced in the US and the bags are entirely designed and fabricated in Los Angeles.
The LA001 is available in Navy & Tan, Olive & Cognac, and All Black, and looks just as cool carried as a “briefcase” as it does on your bike. The design is practical and modern and makes the bag a perfect alternative to a cumbersome backpack or panniers. After the project is successfully funded on May 1, 2016, you’ll be able to find your JAAR bag here.
