15 AMAZING YET EASY DIY HAIRSTYLES

IN Beautiful -

There are always those girls who have the perfect hairstyle every day and we wonder, in all honestly, “How the #!@* do they do it?!” Who has time to do stuff like that every day? Well, you may be surprised to find out that most of those hairstyles you were wowed by are actually pretty easy to do yourself – and won’t take up too much of your time. All you need is patience and several tries before you get it right – and then you can join the “Perfectly-styled” club.

Check out our list to find out how you can easily create some amazing yet easy DIY hairstyles. We’ll give you a step-by-step tutorial and all you have to do is take a mirror, place yourself in front of it, and try!

  1. Flat Iron Curls

Let’s start with some of the basic stuff. Making beautiful “wet-looking” curls used to be a thing only your hairdresser could do. Well, those times are long gone. Now, with help from the flat iron almost every girl has, you can have the beautiful curls you can take to the office, a theater or even on a date.

To make them, first roll small strands of your hair and pin every one to your scalp. The smaller the strands, the more curls you will have. Now, here’s how easy it is: just take your flatiron and press each strand with it for a few seconds. Don’t press for too long – you don’t want to be like that girl who burned her hair off. And, that’s it! Unpin every strand and you can curl the ends a bit more with your iron. Put some hairspray on and you are good to go! Depending on your hair, it can last up to 3 days.

  1. High Braided Crown

“Wow! I’ll never get this done by myself!” – this must have been your first thought and we’re here to tell you that you’re wrong. It’ll take some more time than the previous one and you’ll probably have to practice a few times before you get it completely right, but man, is it worth it! The braid you are going to make is called a Dutch braid and to do it make sure your hair is well prepped, with the right hold and volume – it may mean you need to curl it the day before.

Carefully brush your hair to make sure no knots will get in the way and start your braid under your right ear, taking around 2-inch thick sections of your hair and doing the opposite of a French braid – every section should go below the previous one, not over – cross the left under the middle one, then the right under the left. Make sure you have a good idea where you want the crown to go and keep that in mind as you keep adding new sections to your braid from the front of your hairline. Keep curling the braid around and, like we said, this may take several tries to get it right. Try to have the braid “sit” on your occipital bone for the best look. Once you’ve added all your hair, finish up with a regular braid and put a clear hair elastic at the end. To make your braid look thicker, stretch it by gently pulling both sides. You’re almost done; now all you need to do is pin the end to make the crown shape complete – depending on your hair length, you may also be able to spiral it inside the first – or if not, just tuck it in under it. That’s it. Just make sure you pin any loose ends and make it look as close to the image as possible. Now, go wow everyone!

  1. “Bow” Hairstyle

This is a pretty popular hairstyle with the celebrities and we all usually think that this kind of hairstyle can only be pulled off by a professional. Wrong again – you can do it and it’s not even hard: get your hair set for your next night out with friends and attract looks wherever you go. All you need is your hair to be a little past your shoulders, a few hairpins and an elastic.

Make a simple, high ponytail with the elastic you took and instead of ending it there, pull your hair through it once more, but only halfway. Separate it in two sections and then take the loose ends over the middle of those two sections. Tuck them in nicely using your hairpins and now just separate the sections nicely, trying to fluff them a little. Put on some hairspray and that’s it! It will probably take less than 10 minutes!

  1. Colorful Fishtail Braid

Fishtail braids are always in, and you can never go wrong with them. They look gorgeous, princess-like and they look really hard to make – but guess what, they’re not. Take a look at this tutorial and you will see what we mean. We’re guessing you’ll take this hairstyle out for a test-drive as soon as tomorrow.

What you should do is divide your hair into two even sections and now, pay attention: you take a small section from underneath one side and bring it over the other side. Do the same thing with the second section. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Some more repeating, and you are done! Simple as that.

Now, if you want something different, try to tie different colored yarns to one layer of your hair – at the root.  Do the same thing described above and then just cut off the pieces that were too long. Tie the braid with a piece that you cut off and now you have a hairstyle that everybody will envy.

  1. Loose Halo Hair

For a more relaxed and romantic look, try making this loose halo. It is a great look for occasions like weddings, dates or late night summer trips to the beach. It will look like you didn’t put much work into it but at the same time it’s somehow beautifully styled.

If your hair is not naturally wavy, curl it a little for additional texture, using a curling iron or the flat iron trick we told you about earlier. Now, you start by taking a front section of one side of your hair, twisting it and pinning it to the back, leaving some ends loose. To cover the first pin, take another section form just under where the previous one was pinned – and twist again. Repeat until you get to the center of your head and then, as you’re probably guessing – do the same thing on the other side. Make sure to hide the bobby pins and you are ready for your next date. Off you go!

  1. Fancy Bun

Ok, this is where we prove to you that even the most beautiful hairstyles can be easily done yourself, if you know the tricks. And it’s not even that hard. See this beautiful lady? That’s going to be you, after a few practice rounds. You ready to try?

The first thing you do is take a bit of your hair at the crown of your head and tease it a little for an additional lift. You’re going to need to separate your hair in half by pulling a straight line from one ear to the other. Now take the back half and tie it in a low ponytail. Gently tug out some of it for bigger volume and then take the curling iron. Curl up your front sections by dividing them in 1-inch strands. After you’re done with that, start curling your ponytail in 2-inch sections and then just grab all of it and press it over your ponytail, securing it with bobby-pins to make a fancy-looking bun.  Now all that is left is arranging the front sections backwards (starting with the ones closest to the back) and also pinning them down – feel free to take several strands at a time. Don’t worry about it being perfectly secured; let some ends loose for a relaxed look. Add some soft-hold hairspray and you’re all set.

  1. Side Chignon

This simple romantic look is just perfect for pretty much any occasion, and trust us, it is going to look great on you – it does on everybody. It is elegant and stylish and it doesn’t require a lot of work so take a look at how it’s done.

First, you need to blow-dry your hair to make it straight and easy to style – use a round brush to do that. The next step is one that we have mentioned a lot in this article: curling. This time, it’s recommended to do it using a wide-barrel curling iron and start from the ears down. Gently tease your hair to add volume to it and you’re almost done. Now all you need to do is make a low ponytail and twist it along your nape, pinning it as you go. When you reach your ear, curl up the rest of your hair and pin them back over the twist. Piece of cake, don’t you think?

  1. Flower Braid and Low Ponytail

This one will blow any and everyone away, trust us. It’s really beautiful, really simple, really elegant and really easy to do. It won’t take much of your time but it will take everyone’s breath away…

If you want it to be like the picture, start by making some curls. This step is not mandatory, but we think  that it adds to the romance. Who doesn’t like curls, right? The next thing you do is take some hair from each side of your head down near the neck, right where a low ponytail would go. Tie them up with a small elastic and create a simple braid. Feel free to pull out on one of the sides a little – it will add to the future flower’s volume. Roll up the braid to create it, starting from the bottom and making the side you pulled out the outside one. Add some bobby-pins and hairspray to secure the rose and voila!

  1. Waterfall Braid

The waterfall braid is a kind of a hit and no wonder, it looks really amazing. As you are already guessing, it is not difficult to make it, especially with all the steps laid out for you. Just one thing: it’s best to do it with day-old hair. So, let’s see…

Comb your hair and part it like you normally do and take a small piece of it on one side, dividing it into three sections. Make a regular braid for 2-3 inches to make sure that the “waterfall” doesn’t fall into your eyes and then, just drop one of the sections. To continue braiding you are going to have to pick another section directly below the one you just let down. Keep repeating the falling step all around your head: pick a section, add it into the braid and let it fall. Go all around your head and when you reach the other side, simply secure the braid with bobby pins.

  1. Banded Chignon

Going to a wedding, a prom or any other formal event? This is the perfect hairstyle for these occasions, keeping your hair up in a beautiful chignon and with added jewelry. Let’s have a look at how you can easily do this hairstyle on your own.

Curl up your hair a little (obviously, huh?) and tease it a little at the crown. Put your headband around the crown – it can pretty much be anything that you like and that fits the occasion and your outfit. Just make sure it has a little bit of stretch. So, once you set the headband in its place, start by pulling small sections from the front of your hairline and tucking them in below the headband. You don’t have to make it perfect: pick different size sections and keep some loose – it will add to the beauty and the volume of the hairstyle. When you finish with one layer all the way around, you can choose to leave the rest of your hair down, or continue to tuck in all your hair and have a pretty braid. Secure with hairpins and some hairspray and now all you have to do is put on your favorite dress.

  1. Romantic Up Do

Our dear brides to be, with this tutorial you can choose to do your own hair and still be the one in the spotlight the entire evening. This romantic up do will blow everyone away, especially your partner – and it’s not that hard to make.

Guess what: you have to curl up your hair first – this time use hot rollers. Tease down the crown of the hair and then pick hair from your left side, twist it and gather it towards center and pin it down. Do the same thing at the right side, leaving the middle section loose. Take those loose ends, separate them in three sections, twist each one and put it in the position as the picture shows. Pin them down to keep them in place, add your desired hair accessory and some hairspray. Put on your wedding gown and go say “I do” looking beautiful, elegant and romantic.

  1. The Half and Half

The half and the half stands for half beautiful and half even more beautiful. Or, if it doesn’t, it should, because that’s what this hairstyle is. Put on some soft make-up and do this simple hairstyle to turn heads and feel beautiful.

This too starts with curling the ends of your hair, from the ears down. After that, part it at the middle and run your fingers through it to loosen up the curls. Halfway down the part, start taking sections of hair and spraying lots of hairspray on them. Go on all the way to the crown, and then tease it with a fine comb. Smooth down the teased hair a little using a comb and then gather its sides into a half ponytail. Use some pins to keep everything in place and gently place every curl where you want it.

  1. Maiden Braid

Keep your hair up, keep it pretty and make everyone ask: wow, who made that? And be proud to say that you did – on your own. It is simple and beautiful, and here is how you are going to accomplish it.

Start off by making two simple braids on each side of your head, in the center part. Wrap each one around the crown of your head and pin them so they form a kind of a headband at the top of your head. Take the rest of your hair and tie it in a casual, messy bun or just leave it down – whichever you like better. That’s all. It looked much more complicated, right?

  1. Beehive

This one is going to wow you with its simplicity and creativity. Before you begin, you are going to need some special ingredients: a bath loofa and a fabric that matches your hair color, that can fit the whole loofa inside. You’re going to laugh when you see what it is for.

Cover up the bath loofa with the fabric that you picked. Pick one small section from the front of your hair and leave it over your face, while you take the following 2-3 sections around 2 inches wide, and tease them until they look like the image. Place the covered loofa on your hair and cover it with strands of hair from all directions until it is completely hidden. Pull sections from the side and from the back and create a super-interesting beehive shape. With the rest of your hair, you can choose whether you are going to also pull it up or just leave it down. Awesome, right?

  1. Summertime Twist

It’s called the summertime twist but it’s good for any season, don’t worry. It looks kinda cute and youthful and that’s exactly how you’re going to feel if you try it on. Like all the previous hairstyles, it’s super-easy and you’ll be amazed when you finish it in no-time.

Separate your hair into 4-6 strands, depending on how much hair you have. Twist every section and pin it at the bottom back of your scalp into a small bun. Start from the outside and work your way in and remember to use pins to secure all the buns – two or three per bun should be enough. If any long hairs are left hanging loose, pin them too to create this beautiful look. Wear it like this or, even better, add a flower or another accessory for added cuteness. You’re ready to go!
