What we should look for when buying winter skin protection

The first thing you need to think of when choosing any kind of skin product, regardless of whether it is for winter or for summer is your skin type. If your skin is, for example, dry, and you use a cream for oily skin, don’t be surprised if it just doesn’t do what it’s supposed to. So, if you’re not sure what skin type you have, maybe it’s best you first schedule a visit to a dermatologist.

The next thing you should keep in mind is that some ingredients are just proven to help your skin, nourish it and make it look beautiful, young and radiant. So, seeing names like Shea butter, Aloe Vera, vitamin E etc. can be a sign you are going in the right direction. Ingredients you should stay away from, on the other hand, are parabens, petrochemicals and phthalates. Also, if you’re allergic to some of the ingredients, it goes without saying that you should pick a different product.

Finally, no matter what they advertise, the best way to test a product and see how it works for you is to try it out. In the beginning, you may spend some extra cash changing different products and throwing them in the trash when they fail you, but once you find the right one, you won’t have to spend any more money looking ever again; usually what works now will work forever.  But, of course, that doesn’t mean that if you notice that it doesn’t work like it used to you should stick with it just because once it was perfect. This is one of the cases where our list may come in handy.

So, good luck and happy shopping!
